"JustSpeak is a justice advocacy organisation that advocates for people in prisons, people who have formerly been incarcerated and other vulnerable communities. As an organisation, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe and cared for. We welcome and thank you for this opportunity to provide our submission on the Ram Raid Offending and Related Measures Amendment Bill  and other pertinent legislation.  

We assert that this Bill fundamentally ignores research developments related to the reduction of youth recidivism. Furthermore, the proposed amendments contravene the Government's obligations under Te Tiriti of Waitangi to provide equitable outcomes for Māori, human rights law, and several International Conventions in which Aotearoa New Zealand is party to.
